Are you interested in fashion, but you were too busy to watch fashion shows? No problem, I chose and wrote about some of Milan’s Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2023 catwalks; so you can stay tuned and updated about new fashion trends from ‘città della moda’, from Milan.
Milan Fashion Week took place from 20th September to 26th September, so let’s find out together what has the world of fashion prepared for us.
Dolce&Gabbana
Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana in collaboration with Kim Kardashian, whom they commissioned to search through last year’s D&G archives. When you combine the style of Kim Kardashian with the style of D&G from the 90s and 00s, the result is exactly what we saw at this year’s MFW called “Ciao Kim”. Looks with corsets, leather elements, dresses embroidered with pearls or black gloves. It was such a beautiful collaboration!
Moschino
Ever thought of taking inflatable pool toys and life jackets and make an evening dress from it? No problem for Moschino, specifically for Jeremy Scott, who said to Vogue magazine:
“Everybody’s talking about inflation,” the designer says. “The cost of everything’s going up: housing, food, life. So, I took inflation into the collection.”
Let’s check the new collection!
Bottega Veneta
Bottega Veneta in their Milan Spring/Summer 2023 came up with the modern classic style, minimalism, and the precision for details and that is what this brand is known for. The most attention was probably focused on the model Kate Moss, who wore a jacket with multiple prints to achieve the desired colour of the print.
Diesel
Diesel opened the Milan Fashion Show for the public, and tickets were literally sold out in 90 minutes! And we all know what couldn’t be missed on the catwalk. Yes, it’s denim.
Fendi
This year’s Fendi fashion show was enriched by a touching gesture from fashion designer Kim Jones, who honored Karl Lagerfeld with the Fendi collection at this year’s Milan Fashion Week. He incorporated the double F, which Karl himself designed, on to several models. Obi belts, woven leather, floral print, and much more were showing beauty of minimalism and elegance. “It’s all in the details “, and yes, it is.
Max Mara
Max Mara breathed life into the Riviera style, which was inspired by classic elegance. Monochromatic colors and wide trousers were important elements of the fashion show. Max Mara certainly revived the mood of the French Riviera with their new collection.
Prada
Prada in collaboration with Raf Simons, brought us a contrast of day and night, but not only that! They showed off a dress made from a paper-based fabric and deliberately wrinkled the fabric. So, women who hate ironing, Prada thought of you with its new SS 2023 collection! With its collection, Prada tried to lead us to the impression that fashion is no longer an idealized reality, on the contrary, it speaks of a reality that is not perfect, but one day it will become perfect.
Gucci
In the last collection of Gucci called Gucci Twinsburg, Alessandro Michele surprised us with his idea to find 68 sets of identical twins. The twins appeared on the catwalk side by side as a representation of asymmetrical reciprocity.
As for the collection, Michele, for example, incorporated elements of Chinese culture into it. What a masterpiece!
Versace
The Versace prints and colours for MFW Spring/Summer 2023, which the Versace brand is known for, were replaced by a black collection where they used the darkest shade of black. The “dark gothic goddess” theme, completely dominated the catwalk. Jackets with fringes, miniskirts, or the theme of the bride in a veil is only a small part of the spectacular fashion show that Versace presented. The whole show was closed by Paris Hilton with “Bridal Barbie vibes”, as she herself described it.
These were new information from the catwalks, stay tuned for the news updates from the world of fashion, see you in the next article!
